UNITED KINGDOM AT A GLANCE: EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND

Second Stop: Edinburgh, Scotland.            Monday, February 13-15, 2017

Travel: Underground, Piccadilly Line at Hammersmith Station straight shot to Heathrow Airport. Arrived in Ediburgh (EDI) and took the tram into the city center. Walked a block to the hostel.

Hostel: The Baxter! (The design of this hostel was cool. Small but great use of our space. Stayed in a 9 bunk room with 3 bunks – 3 beds high. I was on the top/3rd bunk!

Weather: mid 40’s and I loved it! It was sunny most days which I gather is rare this time of year.

What to do/see:

St. Giles Cathedral

Eat a jacket – they call a baked potato with the skin on a jacket! Hysterical!

Buy a hat at FabHatrix or at least visit! It’s the cutest shop and they make all of their hats in Edinburough! LOVE!

Drink Scottish Tea

The Queens Arms bar is just so cute!

Go to Ensign Ewart for live music! Several places have live music but most are more pop oriented. I wanted a local flavor and ended up going here both nights in Edinburgh!

Walk around and take in the beauty of what you see!

Transportation: they have a tram and bus system but they aren’t necessary to experience the city center at all. Very walkable!

This city in a word: majestic

Until next time!
