Aberdeen, Scotland
February 16-18, 2017
Travel: Audra and I drove from St. Andrews to Aberdeen. Audra had dominated the roads our first day from Ediburgh to St. Andrews. We now had another couple of hours worth of road to conquer in an effort to make it to Aberdeen and probably 45 round-abouts in our future. Having a car was essential to really maximize our time in Scotland. We were able to really see and experience a lot in Scotland. I would recommend a car!
This is a terrible photo – but there were sheep everywhere! I tried capturing them but… This will have to do!
Hostel: Abacus Central Guest House. Audra and I stayed in a room with 2 beds. It was a nice way to ease in to hostel life after staying in Eden mansion!
Weather: mid 40’s
What to do and see:
These are family crests on the ceiling. I love that! I want a crest…
This is a pipe organ. WOW! They do weddings here now by the way! Wouldn’t that be fun!

Visit Fyvrie Castle! We got really lucky because they are actually closed for the winter. Our new friend was kind enough to show us around! Essentially we got a private tour of this beautiful home! Look at that key! This home is 4 stories. The top floor was the servants quarters. Four families have lived there but now it is owned by the National Trust. The history is interesting and the architecture is stunning. The detail is just incredible.

Do a Whisky Distillery Tour
I can’t explain these photos – but this was just a great day! We laughed SO much! ❤
Drive to the beach! The beach was actually a 10 minute walk from our hostel but we were on our way back from Fyvrie!

STUART!! The funniest guy we met! “Am I in that photo” …
Make friends! The people are SO KIND!

Go to the grocery store and get stuff for a picnic!
Drink a Guinness
Transportation: It was helpful to have a car. Had we not, we would have just stayed in the city and it wouldn’t have been half the experience.
