Many of my friends have inquired about my experience and lessons learned, so I thought it might be fun to answer them for you on my blog! Feel free to message me your questions and I will be sure to include them!
FAQ: My must have Apps when traveling!
- Maps.me is quite possibly the best app ever. It’s your typical map app but it doesn’t need the Internet to work. You have to download your location prior to arrival – check that out in advance.
- Google Translate has been helpful to have! I have had entire conversations with people because of this app! A must have if you aren’t fluent in a language.
- WhatsApp and Facebook messenger are both great communication tools.
- Booking.com is easily the best way to find a place to stay and you can do it as you go. You can select solo traveler as an option which is genius. Provides details on safety, walkabilty and shares a guide to the city which is a nice touch.
- TripAdvisor – I use TA hand in hand with booking.com. There are great nuggets shared by real people who are experiencing the city.
- Photo Circle – I like this app because I don’t have a ton of storage on my phone. This app allows me to upload an album and relieve my phone of storage. It ensures I always have room to capture the beautiful moments!
- Podcasts – without wifi you need to plan your entertainment ahead of time. When traveling by bus, train, plain or car – you should come prepared with something to do! The other app that I use is audible for audio books. Both are essential for me!
- Spotify I use daily! I love music because when I hear a song again – it takes me back to a moment in time! When I hear Citizen Shade – I canvisibly see the he streets in Spain! I love that!
- iBooks is great for storing pdfs and essential documents. Your passport, plain/train/bus tickets, etc.
I travel with an iPad and iPhone and have these apps on both devices. I’m certain there are a million apps that are useful but these are my must haves!
